Themes provide a way of changing the way your computer looks and sounds.
They will customize your screens background, icons, the pointers, system
sounds and even Window's startup/shutdown screens. It is a fun way to
liven up your computer.
Will Desktop
Themes Work On Windows XP?
Yes!
But you will have to make a small adjustment first. These themes can be
applied to your system by switching from "Windows XP Style" to "Windows
Classic Style" within your Desktop Properties. Right click on an empty
area of your screen's desktop - Click on Properties - Click on the
Appearance tab. Under 'Windows and Buttons', Click on the drop down menu
and choose "Windows Classic Style". Then setup your desktop theme.
Is There A Program That Will Make Theme Installation Easy?
After running the extraction file for the desktop
theme you just downloaded, you will have to select the theme for use on
your computer. There are two programs, which are both free, that will
help you to select your desktop themes for use.
The first is Left Side Software's Desktop Theme

Installing themes using Left
Side Software's Desktop Theme program
1. Run Left Side Software's Desktop Theme program.
2. Click on Install tab.
3. Click Browse.
4. Navigate to the folder where the theme files
are located.
5. Select theme.
6. Click OK
7. Click Install
Installing theme using
Desktop Architect
1. Click the Tools menu
2. Click Install.
3. Click Browse.
4. Navigate to the folder where the theme files are located.
5. Click the theme icon.
6. Click Open.
7. Click Next.
8. Make sure that the name of the folder where you want to install the
theme is specified.
9. Make sure that the options you want for installing fonts and screen
saver are checked.
10. Click Next.
11. Click Next.
12. Click Finish. |
