************HELP! DESKTOP THEME FOR WINDOWS 95**************

This theme is intended for use with Plus!

Unzipping the Help!.zip file should have given you:

This Helpreadme.txt file
Help.theme file
All the .wav, .ico, .cur, .ani. and .bmp files

********INSTRUCTIONS********

Unzip into your Program Files/Plus!/Themes folder. All the files are named so that they stay together in the Themes folder, but you may prefer to place them in a subfolder of Themes. If you do this, you MUST name the folder Help! (don't forget the "!") and you Must put the Help!.theme file and Help!2.theme files back be out in the Themes folder itself.

To start the theme, go to Control Panel, Desktop Themes, and select "Help!" or "Help!2" in the drop down menu and then click "OK."

*********SOUNDS**************

I have included some alternate .wav files for you to choose from. You may prefer a music clip to a bit of movie dialog.

You may find the theme is simply too "noisy" for your tastes (or for some poor non-Beatle soul who has to share a computer with you), in which case you need to go to Control Panel, Sounds and deselect some of the sounds by replacing them with "none." If you have your computer set to open multiple programs on start up, you will get repeated playing of the "open program" .wav when you boot up and the 'close program .wav when you shut down. You need to select "none" for the "open program" and "close program" sounds. Remember to save this change under Desktop Themes or all those sounds will be back next time you boot up! (Instructions on that later.)

The sounds have been saved in Microsoft ADCPM format to reduce their size. If they will not play on your system, e-mail me and request the Abbey Road Sounds in 8 bit stereo.

*******ICONS/Cursors*********

There are several different icons to select from including pictures of each Beatle. There are also some extra .ani's you might like to try. To select different Icons, got to Control Panel, Display, Plus and browse for them there. To select different .ani's, go to Control Panel, Mouse, Pointer and browse for them there. Remember to save changes under Desktop Themes or it will revert to the original icons/ani's next time you boot up! (Instructions on that later.)

*******CHANGING SOUNDS/ICONS/ANI'S***********

Once you have selected the sounds/icons/ani's you want as defaults, go to the Control Panel, Desktop Themes, and click on "Save as", then on "Help.theme." (Remember that this is out in the Themes folder itself, not in the Help folder.) A prompt will tell you this file already exists and ask if you want to replace it. Say "yes." This will change the default sounds for this theme so you won't have to re-select everytime you turn the computer on. You can switch back to the original .wavs by using the same steps (Control Panel, Sounds, etc.) any time you want.)

               The Help Screen Saver

If you dowloaded the jpegs for the Help screen saver, you will need a slide show type screensaver program to run them on. Installation and set up will depend on the screensaver program you use.

The images look best left at the size they are but quality is good enough for setting them to fill the screen.

I hope you enjoy this theme. If you have problems using it or suggestions, e-mail me at liveletdie@worldnet.att.net. Unless you are a real newbie with a simple problem, I probably won't be able to help much, but I'll have a go at it!
