This theme pack will only work if you have Microsoft Plus!
or other desktop management software running, such as Desktop Architect.
It can be downloaded here 
The sounds in this theme are compressed using MPEG Layer-3
Compression. You need to have Netshow2.0 or higher to play these
sounds, this can be downloaded from the Microsoft
Site. As an alternative, you can also download this small MPEG
Layer-3 Codec Installer which has been thoroughly tested on several system
configurations. Just install it right over the top of any player or even
without a player. It works! MPEG

Note: This is not a player and will not overwrite any
of the files currently on your system. It is simply a codec installer,
which will enable the ACM Waveform (*.wav) of MPEG Layer-3 to function
properly in external programs.

About this Theme
This theme is an Update to the Broken Theme that I placed
on the ThemeWorld web site sometime
last year. The theme had certain bugs and generally was of a medium
quality. I have tried to redress that with this update. The
Update includes:-

Improved the Wav files, by making a completely new set and
converting them from 8bit mono to MPEG Layer-3, 56 kBit/s, 22,050 Hz, Stereo.

New Wallpaper, far better than the last Wallpaper.
As it is an update I thought the Broken & Fixed elements combined well.

3 Wallpapers for the different desktop sizes, rather than
the one of the previous theme.

Self Installing Logo Screens.

Improved coding in the *.theme files.
This is the third Nine Inch Nails Desktop Theme that I have
posted on the Internet. The First theme was for The
Fragile, this received a 5-Star
Rating from the ThemeDoctor
website. The second theme was for The
Downward Spiral, this the also received a 5-Star
Rating.

Installing the Broken Theme

Using WinZip open the archive, click Actions and select Extract.
Make the Extraction Target C:\, and check the Use Folder Names option,
and then click the Extract Button. If you want to extract the files elsewhere
then you can choose your own path. This will extract the contents of the
archive to c:\program files\plus!\themes\Broken.

A True Type font will be placed in the Broken\Font
folder, to install this font start your windows explorer and browse to
the Windows\Fonts folder. Click File and Install New Font and browse to
the Broken\Font folder and select the font and click OK.

The Startup, Wait and Shutdown Logo screens found in the
Broken\Logo
Screens folder, are coded into the *.theme and will be used when
the theme is enabled. If you wish to install them manually copy LOGO.sys
to C:\, and copy LOGOW.sys and LOGOS.sys to C:\Windows.
Note: You MUST make a backup before copying the files.

Webview images (for Windows'98 users): This Doesn’t
apply for users of Desktop Architect.
To install the webview images, copy Broken WVLeft.bmp,
Broken WVLogo.gif and Broken WVLine.gif from the Broken\Web
folder into your Windows web folder (usually C:\Windows\Web).
Note: You MUST make a backup before copying the files.
