ok, this is a theme for windows95/98. I am not a thememaker..this is my first and prolly my last one.
I made this because i downloaded litestep, a very cool alternative to the
default Windows shell of Explorer. (MS SUCKS, but thats another story)
Litestep can be found at http://www.litestep.net
In looking for some themes for litestep i came across one i really like called
Gnome. Gnome is actually a theme for a Linux shell called Enlightenment.
Anyway, a very cool guy named Livewire made the Gnome theme for Litestep.

If you want to try Livewire's Gnome theme after downloading Litestep, you can find it at
http://www.litestep.net/themes/24g-l1.html

So, i downloaded the theme, installed it etc....only to find that Litesep seemed
to be buggy on my machine. A real drag, i assure you since i really didnt want to use Explorer AND
I REALLY dug on this guy's theme. As it turned out i had to uninstall Litestep and go back to Explorer :(
The whole time thinking "ok, maybe i can find a similar desktop theme!"...

Well, i looked and looked. All the themes were about cars, or sports themes..or crap i wasnt interested in.
So i thought "Fuck it, Ill make my own"

And so i did.

All the icons are ported from Livewire's original bitmaps used in his theme. (I LOVED THEM) I have included a zipfile
of all my favorites, as only some are used in the desktop theme. If you dont know how to change icons,
i suggest you take a look at these apps: Iconforge and Microangelo 98.

The cursors are mine. There are no amimated ones i was too lazy.

The wavfiles are ones i managed to scrounge up ..i liked em all.

I have also included a directory with alternative shutdown/startup screens. The directions
for installing these are in the readme.txt in the directory.

I spose you would call this a minimalist theme, i dunno. I dont really care if you dont like it,
I did make it for me, after all. If you do like it, thats cool too!

Installing this theme is pretty basic.

Open GNOME DESKTOP THEME.exe and let it extract to wherever your MS PLUS themes are installed. Thats all.

BY THE WAY!!!!!! If you want to try Livewire's Gnome theme after downloading Litestep, you can find it at
http://www.litestep.net/themes/24g-l1.html. Give it a shot, I love it!!

have fun,
