Windows 95/98 logos are the images that appear when you start up and shut down your pc.
Three type of logos exist (different only according to when they are shown):

LOGO.SYS - starting up screen, located in the root folder (usually C:\)
LOGOW.SYS - screen that tells you that your pc is shutting down,
located in the Windows folder (usually C:\WINDOWS)
LOGOS.SYS - screen that tells you that your pc can be safely powered off,
located in the Windows folder (usually C:\WINDOWS)

Although they have a SYS extension, these files are all BMP images with 320 pixels in width,
400 pixels in height and 256 colors (320x400x256). Do not change these parameters,
otherwise the logo won't be displayed correctly.

Once you've backed up the original logo files, copy the LOGO.SYS file to the root directory
of your first hard disk (usually C:\) and the two other logos (LOGOS.SYS & LOGOW.SYS)
to the Windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS).

CAUTION: if you have DriveSpace installed, you need to copy the LOGO.SYS file to the
root drive of your HOST drive (usually H:\)

IF you must/want to edit these files, you can simply rename them to a .bmp extension
and use any graphics editor
