A) THEME INSTALLATION - and something about MP3-wav files..

1) Extract all the files in the zip file to your themes directory (for example, if your themes directory is "c\program files\plus!\themes\" then you should extract all files there.)

2) Activate the theme by choosing it in your desktop-theme installer (Plus!95, Plus!98, Desktop Architect or whatever program you have..)

3) The sound files used in this theme, like in many themes created these days, are in MP3-WAV format. If for some reason you cannot hear the sounds of this theme you should download the "microsoft netshow" and install it. It will serve you not only in this theme but in many other themes you may download. The URL for downloading "Microsoft netshow" is:

http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/netshow20/05000.htm

4) Enjoy the theme! :)

B) ABOUT ROSSINI - AND THE HARP

Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868) - Extraordinary from birth (29th february), he was the rave, the madness of the operatic scene in the first half of the 19th century. A composer of a frightening amount of operas, and a devourer of a frightening amount of food, a man of tremendous wit, famous in his comic operas ("You are the composer of the 'Barber of Seville'? " - Beethoven's first words upon meeting him) and a lesser known composer of dramatic opera ("Never try your hand at anything but comic opera" - Beethoven's words upon ending that meeting).

Rossini is known as a composer of fast, witty, 'catchy' tunes, and of musical storms (by far the most famous is the storm in 'William tell' but most of his other operas contain one too). But there is another side to his music, more placid and of greater insight. Many of the arias I've heard which had that more tranquil and beautiful touch of Rossinian music used the harp as an obbligato - which means the harp was the main instrument playing in the orchestra. Stendhal said of Rossini:
"The first characteristic of his music is speed". In many Rossini arias, epecially those in which he uses the harp, this is not true. Here are slow rhythms, tranquility, and depth.

So - here's a desktop theme incorporating sounds from Rossini arias which use the harp as obbligato. These sounds come from his operas:
"Mose in egitto"
"Maometto Secondo"
"Il Viaggio a Reims"
"Otello"
